Google Calendar Elevates Task Management with New Full-Screen Feature on Android

Google has unveiled an exciting enhancement for its Calendar application on Android, designed to simplify task management. Users can now create and modify tasks, add specific details, manage sub-tasks, and seamlessly integrate these with Google Workspace products, including Gmail and Calendar, ensuring synchronization across various devices. After introducing full-screen task lists on the web the previous year, this updated feature is being made available on Android smartphones, enabling a comprehensive overview of all tasks and task lists. This enhancement is part of the broader improvement integrating Calendar with Gemini, Google's AI assistant, enhancing the overall user experience. The recent update allows for full-screen task lists within the Google Calendar app for Android. This functionality is intended to improve how users view and manage their tasks, especially while on the move. The full-screen task list is represented by a checkmark icon on the Google Calendar home screen, adjacent to the user profile and Today View icons. It includes three tabs: My Tasks, Travel, and +New List, allowing users to view their upcoming and completed tasks and create new lists all in one interface. This new feature is available for users of Google Workspace, Google Workspace Individual, as well as personal Google account holders. The rollout is occurring for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. Furthermore, alongside the full-screen view in Google Calendar, the company is also improving the Drive Android file picker for devices. This enhancement is aimed at making access to recently viewed Drive items more convenient. Users will also be able to view items shared across various drives, My Drive, and other storage locations quickly. This functionality has already begun rolling out to Rapid Release domains and is set to launch for Scheduled Release domains starting December 2.
