WhatsApp Enhances Meta AI with Personalized Two-Way Voice Chat Featuring Celebrity Voices

WhatsApp for Android is expected to soon incorporate a two-way voice chat functionality for the in-app AI chatbot known as Meta AI. Recent reports suggest that this voice mode will also feature multiple voices of well-known personalities, allowing users to personalize their experiences with the chatbot. Furthermore, additional voices from both the US and the UK are anticipated to be part of this enhancement. Importantly, the Meta AI voice mode is designed to engage users in conversations that mimic human dialogue. The information regarding the public figures' voices was uncovered by WABetaInfo, a distinguished WhatsApp feature tracker, within the beta version 2.24.19.32 of WhatsApp for Android. From the screenshot shared by the feature tracker, it is apparent that WhatsApp is aiming to introduce a variety of voices for Meta AI. These voices are expected to vary in pitch, tone, and accent, creating a distinctive experience for users. The setup is likely to resemble ChatGPT's existing Voice Mode which provides users with different voice options. According to the feature tracker, there will be three accents from the UK and a couple voices sporting a US accent. While specific details about gender, pitch, or regional accents remain undisclosed, it has been noted that four voices associated with public figures will be available. Although their names are not yet revealed, these could potentially include influencers or celebrities. This development is not unprecedented for Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp. In the previous year, the company rolled out various personalized AI chatbots on Messenger that mirrored the personalities of influencers, celebrities, and other significant figures. The addition of voice options appears to be a continuation of that initiative, which could further expand to include AI characters.
